THE HIGH-SPEED diesel for automotive use is the subject of the majority of these conference papers although one or two are devoted to marine engines.
British contributions are numerous, including papers from representatives of Wellworthy; Imperial College, London; and the University of Bath.
Robert Munro, Wellworthy's director of engineering, in his paper suggests that, as engine ratings continue to rise, piston design will become more critical.He claimed that the piston is not seen as the limiting factor to future successful engine deve
