HE finals of a road-safety competition organized by the Traders Road Transport Association were held last Saturday, when five teams of commercialvehicle drivers, six to a team, competed in their knowledge of the Highway Code and the T.R.T.A.'s Drivers' Handbook. The competition was staged by the T.R.T.A.'s London and Home Counties Division in a challenge match to decide which area team in the division would be the first holder of the championship trophy—a handsome silver cup.

The Southampton team, composed of three drivers each from Shell-Mex and B.P. Hamble and the Southern Gas Board, won with a total score of 242 points. The Chiltern area team was second with 209 points, Sussex area third with 205, Kent area fourth with 195 and Surrey and South Middlesex area fifth with 175.

Members of the winning team were: D. A. Seaborn, D. W. Turner and H. W. Davis (Southern Gas Board) and R. Ellis, B. Meecham and J. Cheyne (Shell-Mex and B.P.).
