Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE 700 ambulances operated by the St. Andrew's and Red Cross Scottish Ambulance Service are to be fitted with G units, engine manifold fitments made by L. and R. Engineering, Ltd., Littlehampton, which are claimed to reduce petrol consumption.

Mr. J. A. Brown, secretary of the Service, said that many vehicles to which G units had been fitted were now returning 14 m.p.g. compared with II m.p.g. before.

It is stated that G units are being tested on vehicles belonging to the western region of the railways and Battersea and Croydon Borough Councils.

ARRAN SHIP CAN CARRY LORRIES

QN Wednesday, the Caledonian Steam Packet Co., Ltd., introduced a new vessel, the Glen Sannox, into service between the mainland and the Island of Arran. The vessel can carry about 1,000 passengers and 40 cars, or light vans, as well as having deck space which can be occupied either by lorries or semi-trailers.

Container-loads of goods can also be dealt with, and special arrangements have •been made for the transport of livestock.

AUSTIN-C.P.-CLARK LINK

AN agreement has been reached between the Austin and CromptonParkinson concerns and Clark Equipment international, C.A., an export subsidiary of the Clark Equipment Co., of America, by which Clark will join the British companies in the,, ownership and development of I.T.D., Ltd. T.T.D. will make Stacatruc equipment at the extended Hall Green factory.
