Commercial vehicle congestion on the motorways looks set to increase with an expected Government announcement that coaches are to be banned from the third (outside) lane.
Official confirmation of the exclusion is expected soon, and coach operators are already warning that the decision will reduce road safety.
The Confederation of Passenger Transport says: "It will end up with goods vehicles and coaches together and the boy racers having the third lane all to themselves."
