Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

As an LGV driver, I read with interest your article on Driving Without Aware

ness (CM 1-7 Dec). In the early 1970s I became terribly worried about an incident where I drove for 15 miles and could not remember how I got to where I was.

My doctor seemed to have quite a lot of knowledge about the problem of drivers who don't remember their journeys. She was adamant that when you are in this state, and you are a good driver, you do keep your natural ability to drive well. If you drive badly and "without awareness" you could be in more trouble.
