the Road Haulage Association who retired from the Transport Development Group last August, has been appointed deputy chairman of Norseman Freight, part of the Robert Smith Group. He is based at the company's European headquarters on the Barleycastle Industrial Estate near Warrington, Cheshire.
• ZEPHYR CAMS MOORE/STEER John Moore has been promoted to technical director of Zephyr Cams. He joined the company in 1951 and has been a director since 1981.
David Steer is director of finance and adminstration at Lowestoft, Suffolk. He joined Zephyr Cams in 1981 as accounts supervisor and later became company secretary.

BRS Northern has recruited Bob Goulhorn as head of logistics development. The position is the first of its kind within the group.
Goulborn was previously sales and marketing manager at Lowfield Distribution. • TIPHOOK RAIL HOU LAN
Mike Houlan is appointed marketing manager at Tiphook Rail, responsible for marketing the Piggyback intermodal system. He was senior sales executive at Central Trailer Rentco for six years.
• ATLAS COPCO HEDLUND Lennart Hedlund is the new managing director of Atlas Copco (GB). Previously managing director of Atlas Copco (Canada), Hedlund has been with the group since 1959, working in sales and marketing in Sweden and Japan before moving to Canada.
• MAN-VOLKSWAGEN BUTT/ELLAWALA Stephen Butt has joined MAN-Volkswagen from Ford Motor Company, where he was fleet programming coordinator in the sales and planning analysis department: Ile succeeds Mohan Ellawala, who has moved to the London office as export sales development manager.
• ECONOCRUISE THOMPSON Jim Thompson is new technical director at Rugbybased autotnative components specialist Econocruise.
