• TNT is expanding its thirdparty commercial vehicle engineering service, Truckcare, into Europe.
TNT Engineering, Truckcare's parent division, already repairs around 6,000 trucks, 3,000 of them third party, at its UK workshops.
The Continental service, which will start in Holland in January, will come under TNT's Express Europe operation. Group fleet engineer Alan Parker hopes that Truckcare will eventually be extended to all the company's 150 mainland European depots.
Most of TNT's trucks on the Continent are run by ownerdrivers but they do carry TNT's livery_ Parker says they will form the bulk of Truckcare's customers there.
D Under Dutch law transport firms have to apply for licences to repair other companies' trucks in their workshops.
