Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• London Buses is planning to introduce a network of highfrequency midibuses in the Uxbridge area.

Five routes have been designed which will link residential areas, Hillingdon Hospital and Uxbridge town centre. Four full-size bus routes in the region will also be partly replaced by midibuses.

London Buses has bought 37 new 28-seater Alexander bodied Mercedes midibuses for the network. They will be built to the company's specification which includes extra wide doors, additional room for luggage and brightly-coloured handrails.

The service should be running in May 1989, subject to discussions with local councils, London Regional Passengers Committee, local police and local resident's groups.
