THERE ARE no road tram port knights in the New Yea honours list, but Road Hat lage Association directo general George Newma heads the industry's list wit an OBE.
Mr Newman (above), wh led RHA through last winter' haulage strike, has been it chief executive since 1960. H trained as a barrister, and is a Oxford graduate.
Former London Transpor operations director (buses) Bi Morgan also gets an OBE, an an MBE has gone to Reg Eros the Freight Transpor Association's controller c transport user services.
Transport and Roa Research Laboratory directc A. Silverleaf gets a CB, and CBE has gone to Waite Hayes, vice chairman at For of Europe.
OBEs have also gone to Floweth, assistant director c road safety at the Royz Society for the Prevention c Accidents, R. P. Gibbs, senic principal at. the Department c Transport, W. J. Price, forme chairman of the Yorkshir Transport Users Consultativ Committee, and to Lt-Col J. E Bidmead of the Royal Corps c Transport.
