Seddon Atkinson and Pat Kennett, the noted road transport writer, also received boosts in the same television programme. The famous and magnificently restored 1918 Atkinson three-way tipping steamer — the only survivor of 500 built — was driven into the studio. It was to be preserved in Gisburn Museum, said the presenter with warm approval — and he later held up a copy of Pat's new book on Seddon Atkinson as a source of further information. I had never thought of him as a writer for children.
