MORE than three-quarters of the visitors to the Motor Show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham want to see the Commercial Vehicle Show separated from the car Show in future.
A survey commissioned by the commercial vehicle industry from Exhibition Surveys of Melton Mowbray shows that eight in 10 customers want the two shows to be separated.
The survey was commissioned by a group of manufacturers worried about the impact of the 1978 show — not by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, organisers of the 1978 show.
One of the highlights of the Show was Ford's stand which was hit by a strike and had no new vehicles at all, but the 'best remembered of all was the Leyland stand with its new vehicles proving the main attraction.
