The QH.17 is designed for under-seat mounting. Four screws only are required to secure the heater to the floor, and two holes are necessary to accommodate -the water connections leading to the under-floor piping. Normally the header tubes of the heat exchanger are in the base of the unit, but an alternative version is .available, which has elbow connections in the side casing allowing internal piping to be used.

A flow of two to three gallons of water per minute to the heater at a temperature of not less than 140° F. is desirable. '1 his is achieved comfortably by most engines in current production.

Maintenance is facilitated by an easily removable plate on top of the heater which provides complete access to the fan and motor, and to the heater element for cleaning. The electric motor is mounted on a quickly detachable separate bracket, and the leads arc provided with snap connectors. The motor and fan assembly can thus be removed readily for maintenance.

Future production of D.10 and D.11 demister units will also have plastics fans.
