GLASGOW CORPORATION are to seek Government authority to borrow more than Lim. for the purchase of . 150 Adantean-type buses for their transport department. The vehicles will complete the requirements for the conversion of the tramway services to buses by.Gctober next.
Contracts for the buses have already been placed by the Corporation. Walter Alexander and Sons, Ltd., coachbuilders, Falkirk, are to build the 150 bus bodies for £563,325, and Leyland Motors, Ltd., are to build the bus chassis for £445.350.
