IN the U.S.A., semi-trailers carry 90 per cent, of the long-distance loads undertaken by road haulage, and despite there being small differences between the conditions in the two countries, it would seem obvious that semi-trailers could be made just as popular in Britain.
This was the view expressed by Mr. G. A. W. Crane, chairman and managing director of Crane Fruehauf Trailers, Ltd., when a group of visitors took a look at the nearly completed Crane Fruehauf factory at North Walsham, Norfolk.
