London Transport announces that Mr. Philip Lunghi, Chief Draughtsman (Road Services), retired on December 23 after nearly 41 years with London Transport and its predecessors. His services arc remaining available in a consultative capacity, in relation to certain design projects, until the end of February.

Mr. Lunghi has been in charge of London Transport bus design work for the past thirty years. He held this responsibility during some of the most formative years of bus development, and has done much to improve the design standard of the London bus.

Following the retirement of Mr. Lunghi, London Transport announced that Mr. C. H. J. Giles had been appointed as Chief Draughtsman (Road Services). •Mr. Giles, who is 56, joined L.G.O.C. as a draughtsman in 1930; he has been concerned with the design and development of London Transport's postwar buses and coaches.

Mr. R. A. R. Hill has relinquished his appointments as a director and a member of the executive committees of The International Nickel Co. (Mond), Ltd., and Henry Wiggin and Co., Ltd„ as' well as his directorships of Mond Nickel (Retirement System) Trustees, Ltd., and the / Clydach Estates, Ltd. Mr. F. B. H. Howard-White has relinquished his appointments as a director of The International Nickel Co. (Mond), Ltd., Henry Wiggin and Co., Ltd., and Mond Nickel (Retirement System) Trustees, Ltd. Both Mr. Hill and Mr. Howard-White had served The International Nickel Co. (Mond), Ltd., for over 40 years. Mr. F. Dickinson, a director of The International Nickel `Co. (Mond), Ltd., will additionally serve as a member of the executive committee of that company.

The following appointments are announced by the National Benzoic Co.: Mr. J. G. Wilson, formerly assistant divisional manager, South Wales, has been appointed an assistant manager, Real Estate Department, Head Office. Mr. S. H. Thomas, formerly Gloucester district manager, has been appointed assistant divisional manager, South Wales. Mr. G. R. Green, formerly Preston district manager, has been appointed assistant divisional manager, eastern division, at Ipswich. Mr. J. B. Green, formerly retail sales representative in the Manchester area, has been appointed Gloucester district manager. Mr. K. F. Hill, formerly commercial sales representative, Redditch area, has been appointed Derby district manager. Mr. D. A. E. Paget, formerly retail sales representative. Yeovil area, has been appointed Preston district manager.

c6 Mr. A. R. Gale, of San Francisco, has been appointed president of the newly formed Studebaker International S.A. with headquarters in Lausanne.

Mr. C. V. Scott has been appointed district superintendent (south west district) in the department of the operating manager (country buses and coaches) of London Transport. Mr. Scott joined London Transport in 1933; he has been assistant district superintendent since July, 1955, and will remain at Windsor in his new post. Mr. J. H. Mr. Peter Wood, at present assistant engineer of the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., has been appointed chief engineer of the South Wales Transport Co., 'Ltd., in succession to Mr. P. C. Wickens, who is shortly to become chief engineer of the Western Welsh Omnibus Co., Ltd. Mr. Wood joined Midland Red as assistant engineer. in 1948 and, after a period as chief engineer of Jamaica Omnibus Services, Ltd., returned to his present post in 1958:
