RMSH OXYGEN'S Irish subdiary has been awarded 1E1,600 (0,391) compensation ter one of its lorries had its rres destroyed by an unsuriced road.

Irish Industrial Gases won the ase against Meath County ouncil at Trim Circuit Court last reek. One of its lorries required complete set of new tyres tted at a cost of 1R£2,754 in Oc)ber 1980, after it ran over a ection of resurfaced road at Eneld, County Meath.

It claimed that the council ailed to warn oncoming traffic if the condition of the road, ailed to prevent them from driv-ig on the road, and failed to nsure that the road was resuraced properly. Costs were also warded against the council.
