Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Proposals for uniform or minimal dimensions for farm equipment and buildings were accepted at a meeting in the National Farmers' Union hq in London on Tuesday attended by representatives of hauliers; farmers and their suppliers and customers; and farm buildings manufacturers. The meeting was called at the suggestion of the agricultural hauliers' group of the Road Haulage Association.

An RHA representative said afterwards: "If action can be taken along the lines suggested, it will make it easier for hauliers to send a most suitable vehicle and will also increase productivity by speeding up vehicle turn-round at farms."

Recommendations will be put forward for consideration by the associations and other bodies affected.

For entrance heights a minimum 16ft 6in. for all entrances is proposed; if required to tip under the entrance, the largest tipping vehicles and trailers need 35ft. But for entrance widths, sizes will depend upon the width of the carriageway on the approach road, according to an agreed formula.
