Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Rotalok (Europe) is to launch two anti-roll back devices at the beginning of January. Aimed mainly at heavy trucks, the type 54 is suitable for lighter commercials between 3.5 and 20 tonnes.

The device uses a pawl and ratchet system attached to the rear axle. The pawl engages the ratchet when the vehicle starts to roll back; Rotalok claims reduced clutch and brake wear. The system disengages automatically in reverse gear and a manual override can be operated from inside the cab.

Both models carry approval from the TuV in Germany and the type 54 costs £935 (exVAT). Fitting time is around three hours. Rotalok can be contacted on (0402) 381343.
