• Nottingham-based British Gypsum is expected to contract out all its lime products distribution to a third party, to be named next week.
The contract will be for at least 80 trucks distributing products nationally. It is expected to be made with a company in the South-East; at present British Gypsum runs a small fleet of its own vehicles and contracts out work to haulage companies including John Jempson in Rye, and Turks Transport in Benenden, near Rye.
