Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Seddon Atkinson plans to extend the appeal of its Strato tractive units and multi-wheelers next May by offering an airsuspended tag axle and the latest aluminium-cased ZF S.151 Ecosplit gearbox.

Seddon Atkinson managing director Bob Sculfor explains: "We recently sat down with our distributor network to look at what product enhancements we should add, and they were looking for tag axles as well as a synchro box on our heavier tractor models to compete with the continentals."

The latest 16-speed Ecosplit will be an option on all eight-leg, gers and tractors with 10 and 12-litre engines between 242kW (325hp) and 306kW (410hp). The only synchro box currently fitted in the Strata is the ninespeed ZF 9S-109, offered in the Strato multi-wheelers and tractors powered by the Cummins L10 up to 242kW.

The Twin Splitter and Roadranger constant-mesh gearbox will be retained, and the most powerful Strato 17.47 tractor, powered by the Cummins E465, will keep its Fuller RT-14613 13-speed constant-mesh box.

Seddon has not yet decided on a supplier for the air-sprung tag axle, but Sculfor says it will have "local componentry".

fl Seddon Atkinson has won a Lim order to supply Coventry's Transport Services Unit with 20 refuse trucks. They are all sixwheelers with 157kW (210hp) Perkins Phaser engines and Allison five-speed auto boxes. Bodywork is by Norba and Jack Allen (Motor Bodies).
