Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FIVE PER CENT fuel savings have been achieved by the Plessey Co Ltd by using Airshield equipment fitted to a Leyland Buffalo drawbar outfit.

The results, which cover the May to August period of the company's as yet unfinished Airshield test programme, were obtained using two vehicles, one without Airshield equipment, running simultaneously across the Pennines between Liverpool and Newcastle.

The vehicles were similarly loaded with a container on the towing rigid and other cargo on the flat-bed trailers. To eliminate driving technique differences two drivers only are used and they swop between vehicles.

Results from more recent tests indicate that an even greater saving will be shown when the overall test results are calculated at the end of the programme.

Airshield equipment is marketed in the UK by C.T. (London) Ltd, 3 Hobart Place, London SW1W OHW.
