Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Two-way plan

FOR the first time since 1961 buses could soon be running both ways along London's Tottenham Court Road. An against-the-flow bus lane stretching for more than threequarters of a mile has been proposed by the GLC's transport committee.

The entire route from Cambridge Circus to Euston Road would remain one-way northbound for other traffic. Cost of the scheme is estimated at £389,000, but savings are expected to be about £185,000 a year.

Fares increase

FARES on the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive buses went up last week 2p to 4p. The increases are the first for three years.

Night ride

BIRMINGHAM night service buses fare levels have been restructured. The present twotier system has been replaced by a standard 20p single fare.

Silver service

LT will run 25 Silver Jubilee buses with a specially designed livery to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Queen's accession, to the throne during the summer of 1977.

The special double-deckers will have conventional advertising spaces. Advertising revenue is expected to cover the cost of the silver livery.

Gatwick changes

ALL coaches using Gatwick Airport must now use the new A23/M23 link road to arrive and depart from the section of the airport to the east of the railway line.

Coaches with passengers for outgoing flights should go straight to the upper level while those calling for incoming passengers should first go to the coach park to collect an authorisation ticket. They can then proceed to the coach station 30 minutes after the flight has landed. The waiting area at the Beehive has been closed.
