Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Commercial Motor recently about restrictions on the number of passengers which can be carried in a lorry. I want to use a vehicle to carry men to a site job and cannot trace the article. Could you give me details of it?

AThe item to which you refer was one of our Know the Law series (CM October 101 which was concerned with carrying children. The same regulations apply to carrying your men and these are contained in the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1969 76(1) which states: "A motor vehicle, every trailer drawn thereby and all parts and accessories of such vehicle and trailer shall at all times be in such condition, and the number of passengers carried by such vehicle or trailer, the manner in which any passengers are carried in or on such vehicle or trailer, and the weight, distribution, packing and adjustment of the load of such vehicle or trailer shall at all times be such that no danger is caused or is Rely to be caused to any person in or on the vehicle Of trailer or on a road.

As long as you make no charge for carrying the men the vehicle does not come within the very stringent regulations which apply to public service vehicles and therefore the above regulation is the only one that you must observe.
