Road, Exeter, owned by Budleigh 'transport, Ltd., must not be used for the repair and maintenance of vehicles, Exeter magistrates decided last week. The company had appealed to the bench against a notice served by the Exeter Corporation banning further use of the land for repair work.
For the corporation, Mr. L. J. Woodland said that before Budleigh Transport moved into the premises they had been used for warehousing. Nowadays, all kinds of vehicle repair and maintenance were carried out, including noisy operations.
Mr_ R. E. Millman, for Budleigh Transport, submitted that the premises had always been used for garage purposes, and the fact that there had been a material increase hithis sort of work did
not matter. .
Dismissing the appeal, the magistrates said the whole character of the premises had been changed in the Fast year. They ordered the company to 'pay 3s. costs,
