I-1 A SCOTTISH haulier blamed his mother when he was accused at Alloa, last week, of exceeding the radius of his B licence. Alex Davidson, Stirling Road, Tullibody, explained that a neighbour wanted furniture taken 320 miles to Thurso, but could not get the work done for less than £80. His .own B licence was restricted to 30 miles, so he refused to help. However, under pressure from his mother, who had an interest in the business, he agreed. He was paid £50, but his mother took £35, leaving him just enough to cover the cost of fuel for the trip. Imposing a fine of £10, Sheriff Murray commented: I think your mother should take the rap !
