During July fuel prices continued to rise throughout the UK: diesel rose by 0.6p/lit. The Chancellor gave road transport some welcome relief from rising fuel costs when he delayed the government's 1.9pAit September fuel duty hike until at least November. Fuel represents some 30% of the operating costs of trucks.
