Under the new Data Protection Act hauliers must register the fact that they hold information and say how they intend to use it. Also from March, drivers, warehouse staff ano customers will be entitled to see information on them and check that it is correct.
This information must be gathered in a fair manner with the subject's consent, and must only be used with the subject's consent.
