• Unigate has sold eight truck dealerships and service centres which turned over 1,000 commercial vehicles last year to Lex Service for £49.5m.
The acquisition increases Lex's existing dealer network to 18 and allows Unigate to recoup some of the £104m spent in February this year acquiring Glass Glover and Clifford Foods.
The Arlington outlets are Foden service centres at Charnwood and Darlaston; Leyland Daf dealerships at Basildon, Enfield, Mackworth. Stoke, Wrexham; with service points at Buxton and Harlow. There are two Renault truck outlets at Charnwood and Portsmouth. Lex currently has five Leyland Daf distributorships plus two service points, with two ERF and three Iveco Ford outlets.
