MR. D. H. HAWKINS has been appointed manager of the Tunbridge Wells branch of the British Wagon Co., Ltd.
MR. FRANK CARR, who has been responsible for accessory sales by the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., since 1928, has retired.
MR. S. H. OLIVER has been appointed manager of the purchasing department of Castrol, Ltd., in succession to the late MR. A. I. STAFFORD.
MR. S. H. WOOD, manager of the pump department of the National Benzole Co., Ltd., has retired after 39 years' service. He is succeeded by MR. R. W. BARTLE.
MR. HUBERT ALLEN, chairman of Yelloway Motor Services, Ltd., and a director of Creams (Lancashire), Ltd., has been appointed a Justice of the Peace.
MR. R. W. BIRCH IS to be installed as Master of the Worshipful Company of Carmen. ALD. SIR FREDERICK WELLS has been elected Senior Warden and Mx. FREDERICK CUMBER Junior Warden.
MR. G. H. YARNOLD, formerly export service manager, has been appointed manager of the new parts merchandising branch, which has been set up within the service department of Perkins Engines, Ltd.
MR. K. H. JOHNSTON, manager of the general products division of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., has been elected a member of the executive committee of the Federation of British Rubber and Allied Manufacturers.
MR. PERCY ARROW has retired from the sales organization of A.E.C., Ltd., after 40 years' service. He was sales manager of the company's south-eastern region until 1954 when, upon approaching retirement age, he continued on a part-time basis.
MR. FRANK COUSINS, general secretary of the Transport and General Workers' Union, was last week replaced by MR. SIDNEY GREENE, general secretary of the National Union of Railwaymen, as national delegate to the executive committee of the International Transport Workers' Federation. Mr. Cousins was chairman at the Federation's conference at Berne. Switzerland, last week.
MR. G. E. SMITH, production director of the Perkins Group, is to become assistant managing director of the Hamworthy Engineering Co., Ltd., and will give up his appointment with Perkins on September 12. MR. T. H. R. PERKINS, manaking director of Perkins Engines, Ltd., will temporarily act as director of production, and MR. J. M. Counqs, export sales manager of Perkins Engines, Ltd., will become acting director of marketing for the group as Mr. Perkins will relinquish his responsibility for all group marketing activities.
