I N the year ended March, 1948, payments from the Road Fund in connection with the maintenance and improvement of roads, and the construction of new ones, came lo. over £24,000,000. a figure which includes £8,600,000 spent on trunk roads. These figures, which compare with E15,600,000 and £7,000,000 respectively in the previous year are given in the annual report on the Administration of the Road Fund.
