• Northampton-based Swift Transport Services has bought auto parts distributor Howard Tenens Distribution for 24.5m in a deal which will boost Swift's turnover by 20%.
Tenens will initially be run as a separate division within Swift but will be progressively inte grated into Swift's UK operations. Tenens clients will be serviced from existing Tenens operating centres at Swindon, Banbury, Cowley, Exeter and Wakefield: the purchase includes the freehold of the Swindon depot. Tenens has 180 workers and 135 trucks.
