• Seat (UK) is already making claims about the market potential of the diesel-version of the Terra van, even before its launch next month.
It says it plans to sell 600 of them by the end of this year, compared with a sales target of 1,000 for the petrol versions of the van.
Last year, Terra sales reached 1,057 against a minimum sales target of 1,200.
The launch of the Terra diesel — first revealed in CM last summer — has heralded a spring sales offensive to boost sales and clear stocks of petrol versions in preparation for the diesel launch.
Sales of Seat's Terra Vista van have been averaging about 20 a month. It has found particular favour with handicapped users as it offers accommodation for wheelchairs.
EJ Seat has increased the price of its Terra van range, by approximately 4.2% which puts the basic model price up from £3,964 to £4,286.
