• A bid for authority by Sheernessbased Victor Clements, trading as Clements Transport, to triple his fleet has been turned down by South Eastern Licensing Authority Brigadier Michael Turner because of prohibition notices imposed on Clements' vehicles. Clements had applied for a new operating centre and to increase the authorisation on his licence from seven vehicles and two trailers to 21 vehicles and 16 trailers.
The company's licence expires in July, when the matter will be reviewed.
