• Third-quarter results at Federal Express revealed a huge drop in net income to E3.2m from £15.3m for the same period in 1988/89.
FedEx puts the slump in results down to non-operating expenses from the purchase of Tiger International and air cargo volumes below budgeted levels. However, the company saw an increase of 20% in express packages and documents carriage over 1988-89's third quarter volumes.
