• From 1 April next year the 1,525kg unladen limit for HGV testing will be abolished. All vehicles under 3.5-tonne will be subjected to the car MoT test.
This move will remove 190,000
vehicles from plating requirements. The Department of Transport does not expect these changes to effect the length of time operators wait to get their trucks tested.
