JACK ASHWELL, commercial group secretary of the Transport and General Workers' Union, has attended more inquiries than Sir Arthur Armitage has had hot dinners. But, pointing to the Armitage Inquiry's impressive-looking panel of assessors, he told Sir Arthur that he expected a lot more from this mammoth event.
"We are looking for better things from this Inquiry," he said. "After all, you've got two knights, two professors and a lady."
I am sure Sir Arthur, Sir Henry Chilver, Prof Ray Rees, Prof Patrick Lawther and Audrey Lees feel better for that.
