• Adam Pringle, of Whitbum, was granted 0 licences at Edinburgh on Wednesday for eight vehicles, two to be acquired. This was four more than presently operated and the increase was explained by Mr Adam Pringle, oWner of the business, as resulting from discussion with the National Coal Board. The firm, he said, was engaged entirely on coal haulage and was facing an expansion of business because of the NCB decision to concentrate miners' coal deliveries at Polk emmet. Garage premises were suitable for up to 20 vehicles, he said, and the fleet had been inspected recently and had been passed as being "in very good shape".
