XHIBITING for the first time at the Commercial Motor Show. under the name of Pennine Coachcraft Ltd., is the coachbuilding subsidiary company of Seddon Diesel Vehicles Ltd., Oldham. Pennine Coachcraft has already built bus bodies on chassis other than Seddons, and on its stand at the Show will be one of six 39-seater single-deckers on A.E.C. Reliance 2MU3RA chassis for Great Yarmouth Corporation.
Although the chassis is the standard 16-ft. 4-in.-wheelbase model designed for 30-ft. coachwork, the Great Yarmouth buses will be only 28 ft. 3 in. in overall length, although they will have an interior body width of 8 ft. An interior finish mainly of plastics is chosen to facilitate cleaning, and lighting is by semi-recessed fluorescent tubes. A one-piece, curved safety glass windscreen, with a zone toughened panel in front of the driver, is fitted.
