POLICE IN Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, have warned LGV drivers to be wary following a number of diesel thefts in the area, mainly at two lorry parks.

Lorries at the Newton Park Services lorry park and the School Aycliffe Lane lorry park have been targeted by thieves, as have a number on the Aycliffe Industrial Estate and the A66 between Brough and Scotch Corner. Police have made a number of arrests and have put multilingual posters up in the lorry parks, warning drivers that they are still at risk of having their fuel taken.
