CVS operates from three sites: its head office in Ilkeston, Derbyshire; Grays, Essex; and Southampton, but that is about to expand to 11. Says Gosling: “We’re opening a fourth at Glasgow in the next two months, and there will be more collection sites with used trucks available at Immingham, Manchester, and Exeter. The remaining four are yet to be decided.” The company is doing this in partnership with existing customers and repairers to offer local back-up and services. “At the moment we do the majority of back-up from here. With customers operating all over the UK, if they have a vehicle breakdown and need a replacement vehicle, we want to have strategic locations to make sure customers can pick up a truck at 2am in the morning.”
