there is a book that has just been published that may help you. It is called Getting to Yes (Negotiating Agreements Without Giving In) and is by Roger Fisher and William Ury.
It explains a system called principled negotiation which, it is claimed, works against any strategy — including dirty tricks and when the other side seems too powerful.
