• After what must have seemed like an eternity to many light van operators, Austin Rover has finally launched a diesel version of its class-leading Maestro van. ARG's Maestro diesel van is now the first light commercial vehicle to be fitted with the recently revealed (CM July 26) Perkins Prima diesel.

The two-litre Prima — designated the MDi by Austin Rover — is the first small, high-speed (up to 4,500rpm) direct-injection engine suitable for cars and car derived vans.
