the Spring for the European Economic Community, 75% of the inhabitants of the 12 EEC countries are in favour of free movement of goods, services and capital within the EEC after 1992. The greatest reticence was found among the Danes — only 60% of those questioned were in favour of the scheme. In all the member countries except the UK, the Channel tunnel was seen as a "good thing" by the majority. If the results of this survey are anything to go by, only 13% of British people want the Channel tunnel and 46% are mistrustful of the idea.
