Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Volvo Truck & Bus is looking for up to 15 more dealers to strengthen its servicing and parts network in time for the UK introduction of the new Volvo FL4 7.5 tonne truck in April next year.

Managing director, Bernt Brandtzaeg, says, "We feel we need more service outlets to meet customer demand in the 7.5-tonne market. People operating light trucks are not prepared to go many miles to get their vehicles serviced."

Volvo has established one new dealership in Washington to service the Tyne and Wear area, and the search is on for a new dealership in West Scotland — possibly Bellshill.

Volvo's existing independent dealers are also establishing new dealerships in preparation for the FL4's launch (the truck will be seen for the first time in this coun try at the Motor Show).

John R. Billows, one of the first Volvo truck dealers in this country, has opened a new £350,000 dealership in Bedford.

The new site in Wolesley Road, Kempston, has been stocked with £75,000-worth of spare parts, and John Billows hopes that he can win a lot of new servicing business from the Bedford area, and expects to sell at least 45 extra trucks a year.

Berrit Brandtzaeg does not expect General Motor's decision to phase out Bedford heavy truck production to affect Volvo truck sales very much. "There is still much over-production in the market," he says. He admits, however, that Volvo may look to sign up dealers with Bedford truck franchises in order to extend the Volvo truck dealer network.
