• The takeover of Crystal Truck Rentals by BRS Northern has been completed. Crystal's Hull and Stockton-onTees branches will merge with BRS Truck Rental activities on October 6. The Crystal fleet consists of 70 vehicles, predominantly Fords, with sOrne Dafs, ranging from panel vans to 38-tonne tractive units. The takeover is thought to be worth 2500,000.
BRS will continue truck rental from Crystal's Hedon Road, Hull depot, which will be operated alongside its own Leeds Road, Hull branch. The extra location now gives BRS Northern a wider coverage of the Humberside area At Stockton-on-Tees, the Crystal operation has been absorbed within BRS Northern's Chapel Street site.
Crystal has decided to opt out of truck rental to concentrate on its Iveco Ford Truck franchise and car sales activities.
