TWO pickets were jailed and five others given suspended sentences last week after they admitted causing £5,000 damage to eight lor ries and trailers during the stee Shrewsbury Crown Court heard that night raids on the Telford, Shropshire premises of haulier Hemmings and Son resulted in windscreens being broken, brake pipes cut, and paint being sprayed on the lorries. The company said it lost a further £2,000 through loss of business.

Stephen Marshall (24), of Balfour Street, Hanley, and John Shea (24), of St Mark's Street, Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent were jailed for six months.

Geoffrey Unwin (45), of Housefield Road, Bentilee, Stoke-on-Trent; Robert Anderson (26), of Farmstead Road, Corby; Robert Richard Pundell (33), of Arundel Walk, Corby; William Robertson (38), of Dorking Walk, Corby; and John Ruthyen (22), of Stephenson Way, Corby, were given six-month terms, suspended for two years, with £200 fines and E100 compensation orders.
