• WHAT WILL the backroom boys get up to next? Those in International Paint's vehicle finishes division in Birmingham, as far as possible in all directions from the sea, have been studying, of all things, seagull droppings.
These contain relatively large amounts of highly corrosive ammonia which is damaging to vehicle paintwork. Oddly enough, the older the paint the more resistant it is to staining but, in any event, the mest should be removed as soon aF. possible.
The alternatives are to stay away from the sea or to adapt a slogan that I saw on the back ol an American car: "Keep the city clean. Have a pigeon for lunch."
