MODIFICATIONS to a Commer Commando G16 chassis have been made by Neate Brake Controls Ltd which enable this vehicle to operate with a drawbar trailer. The unit, with Perkins 16.354 engine operates at 22 tons gross train weight.

The modifications include provision of a three-line braking system. The towing coupling is mounted on an additional rear cross-member fitted just forward of the position of the original chassis member. The coupling is a Neate design for use with 50mm trailer eyes and is to ISO recommendation R1102.
