A OAF coach chassis is now at the Blackpool works of Duple Coachbuilders Ltd awaiting the fitment of a Dominant 12m luxury bOdy. The OAF chassis --the first to be imported to the UK -is in right-hand-drive form and has an 11.6-litre DAF engine mounted amidships under the floor. The chassis is an M82000 DMDL. The chassis has a ZF manual gearbox. The vehicle will be operated by Davies of Tredegar.
A spokesman for DAF told CM last week that the coach had been specially converted to British requirements. He stressed that it was a one off venture and did not necessarily herald a DAF attack on the UK coach market. He did indicate, however, that if reaction is favourable the . company may consider bringing in passenger chassis, possibly for the 1976 season. The chassis chosen was "very expensive'', said the spokesmen, and he refused to speculate on an exact price for the completed vehicle,
