THE FULLY automatic fivespeed gearbox designed by British Leyland for the Leyland National, known as the G2, is to be fitted to 200 Leyland Atlantean doubledeckers which have been ordered by Edinburgh Corporation Transport. The order is worth £3m, and the undertaking has been trying seven vehicles fitted with the G2 for some time.
